Ramisa is based in Perth, engaging with how contextual specificity and cultural sensitivity in the urban design and planning of a project could be achieved by applying Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at local community level while keeping in mind New Urban Agenda and Local Agenda 21 guidelines.

With more than five years of work experience as Architect – Planner in Asia and numerous publications in prestigious international journals on topics of sustainability, community building and cultural integration under Curtin Publication Grant Ramisa has broadened her perspective of built environment turning her into a true multidisciplinary professional.

Ramisa’s research concentrates on the concept of placemaking, how it impacts the cities in terms of preservation of cultural heritage and on establishing sustainable liveability through participatory urban planning and design in the global north and south.

Ramisa has received her architectural degree from Pakistan with Campus Gold Medal and Institute Gold Medal. Having completed her post-graduate degree in International Planning and Sustainable Development from the University of Westminster, United Kingdom, she continued with a PhD in Urban Sustainability at Curtin University in Western Australia.
